Newsletters

Welcome!
With a new season comes many changes – we have an updated website (http://www.aquanauts.ca)
which will hopefully help our swimmers and parents. We have also changed our communications
policy – from now on newsletters will be sent by e-mail, posted on the website
and a hard copy will be available on our bulletin board at the Leisure Centre.
Please check out the website frequently as it will be updated regularly with
information. Specific areas are the events calendar and latest news/newsletters
section. These are accessible from the “News” and “Calendar”
links on the left of the page. The newest newsletters and news will show up on
the homepage but if you haven’t checked the website in awhile it is a good
idea to check the news section.
Please have a look around the website and get acquainted with using it. If
you have any questions feel free to phone me at (780) 875-0551.
Thanks and I hope we have another great year,
Coach Tyler

Practice Sign-up
Practices will be signed up in advance. This procedure was introduced last
year as a way to cut expenses. Savings are made through efficient booking of lane
rentals and coaching costs.
To book please contact Debbie Wells at 825-3448. Please call one week in advance.
Bookings can be made at the last minute but are subject to space and coaching
availability.
The cost per practice is $6.00 per hour. You will be charged for all booked practices
whether you attend or not.
Meet Manager
An Assistant Meet Manager is required to run our annual Father’s Day
weekend swim meet. Please contact Debbie Wells to apply for this position by May
22nd. If no one comes forward, our meet will be cancelled.
Code of Conduct
The following code is in effect throughout the year.
1) Aquanaut team members should be respectful of their peers, coaches, officials,
and parents. Any Aquanaut team member not acting in such a manner will be asked
to change or stop that behavior. If that team member fails to comply, they will
be asked to leave and disciplinary procedures will follow.
2) Aquanauts will travel as a team and as individual families in order to compete
with the best and further strive to better competition. Everyone is expected to
behave in an exemplary manner. The reputation of the Aquanauts, as well as the
other athletes with you, is dependent on your behavior.
3) The coaching staff holds the final word on any rules, regulations, or disciplinary
action.
4) The consumption or purchase of alcohol, smoking or chewing tobacco, or use
of any other illegal drug or WADA banned substance of any kind will not be allowed.
In addition, any team member found or suspected to be in the presence of others
(regardless of team affiliation) partaking in any of the above activities will
be subject to the same punishments and probable expulsion from the Aquanauts.
Any swimmer suspected of such activity will appear before a review committee composed
of the head coach and two Aquanaut board members.
5) No team meetings may be missed. Be punctual to all meetings and warm-up
times.
6) All team members must agree to follow the rules about practice and meet
behavior.
